<div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Have not posted anything for months and saw the<a href="https://beccysplace.blogspot.com/2023/05/may-challenge.html"> challenge</a> on Beccy's Place blog and love the lilies so decided to have a go. Kept the card clean and simple and love how it turned out so maybe my mogo just needed a nudge..</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggOO4a2IEHyOF7X6ZAVInMJwV9WrZAKIkX1gExZDnvc5C9aLGx0Wu_H_4OnmiVmCaq8hcH-IyTpXIjILegyao8-0p_t_Tjix9SAscQrhhxalmXOiZGHnl0dT-vjYuwR4owf2nsA78rxLTovVpCZ62-q-HNbXQeTl7n4HYzlnMph35t8jJSPLc8UA3I/s4180/039%20Beccy's%20Place%20Digi%20Lily%202.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3038" data-original-width="4180" height="233" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggOO4a2IEHyOF7X6ZAVInMJwV9WrZAKIkX1gExZDnvc5C9aLGx0Wu_H_4OnmiVmCaq8hcH-IyTpXIjILegyao8-0p_t_Tjix9SAscQrhhxalmXOiZGHnl0dT-vjYuwR4owf2nsA78rxLTovVpCZ62-q-HNbXQeTl7n4HYzlnMph35t8jJSPLc8UA3I/s320/039%20Beccy's%20Place%20Digi%20Lily%202.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div style="text-align: center;">The image is the freebie this month and the hello die is from my stash of die cut words. Our eldest daughter turns 50 tomorrow and this is the card I finally made. Not what I planned but love it and she has a great sense of humour. Hopefully this will get my mogo back as it has been on walk-a-bout lately. The digi is from <a href="https://www.redonkadoodles.com/shop/digital-stamps/special-delivery-digital-stamp/">Redonkadoodles</a> and was coloured with copics and I kept it simple so the image takes centre stage. Her favourite colour is green so mounted the panel onto a green square card base and added the sentiment.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYbFL-N5f73wQe9teTiZNjT12KC1BLpXXvD1zG08ZNALwA0v2FFPFbN61-dj303dolY02oRqYnhhbZ0aPwAvX0LC7g4gEmD4lrIpb0jqOaHmeom5gFVgYAOrDcuP-EOkJqwCUZ3oh6mYdY1Z3DnXhFFrjltnw_0MiNjkMnytFXQazev_XdjkQTP9ZE/s1906/2022%20098%20Copics.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1890" data-original-width="1906" height="396" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYbFL-N5f73wQe9teTiZNjT12KC1BLpXXvD1zG08ZNALwA0v2FFPFbN61-dj303dolY02oRqYnhhbZ0aPwAvX0LC7g4gEmD4lrIpb0jqOaHmeom5gFVgYAOrDcuP-EOkJqwCUZ3oh6mYdY1Z3DnXhFFrjltnw_0MiNjkMnytFXQazev_XdjkQTP9ZE/w400-h396/2022%20098%20Copics.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Copics used:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> Skin: E00,31.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Mouth: & Lips: E13,31.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Hair: E23,25,27,29.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Present: G12,14,16.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Ribbon: C0,1,3,5.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Shadow: G0000,000,00.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><p style="text-align: center;"><br /></p>cosiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16404886114416480337noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3857143916635138188.post-51420819960437074522022-04-01T22:19:00.001+11:002022-04-01T22:19:18.993+11:00Happy Little Stampers Watercolor Challenge<p></p><h2 style="text-align: center;">Fun Card</h2><div style="text-align: center;">I have been absent for months and finally thought it was time to get back to doing the odd blog post. We have been lucky here in Australia that covid has not not been as bad as else where but it did mean we had to cancel our trip to Scotland but we have not really had to change our lifestyle and it has been way more relaxing. Happy Birthday</h2>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This week the colours for the challenge are these lovely spring shades and as the weather is cold down here in Australia it was nice to stamp a bright spring feeling card. The set was a feebie from Simply Cards and Papercraft and I had fun cutting and stamping with lots of different colours..</div>

The ones I used on this card were Distress oxides in Mustard Seed, Carved Pumpkin, Spun Sugar & Picked Raspberry for the flowers and Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn for the leaves. The circle cut out is from <a href="https://altenew.com/collections/die-cutting/products/mid-century-frame-die">Altenew and is called Mid-Century Frame</a>.</div>

Just Hang In There</h2>
<div style="text-align: center;">
When I saw this sketch for some reason all I that saw was someone or something flying. Maybe I have been in self imposed quarantine with hubby for to long and it's affecting me but we are all coping well down here in Australia. Once I started it all came together quickly and this is the result. I cut the wonky frame, stamped the cat from <a href="https://shop.pennyblackinc.com/p/bubbly">PB Bubbly</a> where I wanted it and another to mask it off, placed the cat mask and coloured the sky. Used a <a href="https://mftstamps.com/collections/stencils/products/mini-cloud-edges-stencil">MFT </a>cloud stencil to colour the circle with distress oxide inks in stormy sky and salty ocean. I stamp a 3rd cat on copic friendly paper, coloured it then fussy cut it out. Sponged the same blue distress inks on the frame and adhered it to a cardbase, glued the centre piece into the frame and used dimensionals to adhere the cat. Thought the sentiment was appropriate for now.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The last post card had die cuts as the focal point and I thought it would be fun to use them again but with only neutral colours. I first stamped some leaves from an <a href="https://altenew.com/products/wallpaper-art-stamp-set">Altenew set, called Wallpaper Art</a>, in black on white card that I had cut with a spellbinders Die. Added a strip of Patterned Paper from my stash and then adhered the die cut flowers and sentiment. The sentiment from Inspired By Stamping was heat embossed in white on black card then fussy cut out.</div>

Using Paint Chips with Dies</h2>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Last Year I did a demo at my local monthly craft club on using those free paint chips from your local hardware store and these were leftovers.. I collect lots of them and die cutting them is one way to use them. These flowers and leaves were a way to take the guess work out of matching colours and it makes a quick card. All did was arrange them on a card base, add a strip of leftover patterned paper and a sentiment, (also a leftover) and a quick and easy card. The die was a freebie that came with a Practical Publishing card magazine, can't remember which one, and was designed by Altenew. Easy to use and you can make plenty and save them for later. You just need to remember to use them.</div>

Leftover Bits and Pieces</h2>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I didn't make a New Year Resolution but thought it was time to start using all the leftover bits and pieces I just can't throw away. So for this challenge I started with a piece of patterned paper and a <a href="https://shop.pennyblackinc.com/p/antique-frame?pp=40&sort_selection=recommended">die cut frame by PB</a> from my stash. Did a bit of masking then I stamped a really old flower called Long Stem Flower from Heroarts then stamped it again and copic coloured the two of them. Fussy cut the flowers and buds and used dimensional to adhere them to the image. I turned the sketched around as it just didn't feel right and then added a sentiment from <a href="https://www.mftstamps.com/collections/stamps/products/more-essential-sentiments-7305">My Favourite Things</a> and some gems. Happy with the end result.<br />

Our Precious Animal 2</h2>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Two posts in one day is unusual for me but I finished the last two cards on the Australian animals and here they are. Backgrounds done the same with distress oxides but they are different and this is why I love this ink. The koala has more green and is from <a href="https://www.darkroomdoor.com/rubber-stamp-sets/rubber-stamp-australian-animals-vol-2">Dark Room Door Australian Animals Vol 2</a> set and the kangaroo from <a href="https://www.darkroomdoor.com/rubber-stamp-sets/rubber-stamp-australian-animals-vol-1">Vol 1</a>. I added some<a href="https://www.darkroomdoor.com/rubber-stamp-sets/rubber-stamp-set-gum-trees"> gum trees</a> to the kangaroo card for interest but the gum leaves I fussy cut hides most of them. I now have a nice set of four cards and since I didn't add a sentiment they can be used for any occasion.</div>

Our Precious Wildlife</h2>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This has been an horrific time this Christmas and New Year and I have not thought to much about crafting. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The worst bush fires ever has devastated the country and especially around our area and we have been in drought for so long with no rain forecast . Very few have lost their lives but even a few are to many. Friends have lost their homes on the coast and so many others have lost their farms and whole towns are in ruins. My heart goes out to them all. We have lost so much life stock and our native animals so this is dedicated to all of those affected, especially the animals. Have a couple more to do so will get them up soon. The stamps are from <a href="https://www.darkroomdoor.com/rubber-stamp-sets/rubber-stamp-australian-animals-vol-1">Dark Room Door </a> Vol 1 and there is a Vol 2, love them both.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
My first blog post for the New Year and it's a card I made for this sketch challenge.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-R3_TtEpLnoc/XhFwyHF8CpI/AAAAAAAADBo/XPOHj3aVIxUsQFNT2_kI-xUsPyneoB7NQCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/Freshly%2BMade%2BSketches%2B416%2B1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="286" data-original-width="400" height="228" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-R3_TtEpLnoc/XhFwyHF8CpI/AAAAAAAADBo/XPOHj3aVIxUsQFNT2_kI-xUsPyneoB7NQCLcBGAsYHQ/s320/Freshly%2BMade%2BSketches%2B416%2B1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I am going to try and do more challenges this year but time just seems to move to fast for me now. My card is made from left over pieces that I'm trying to use as the pile is getting bigger everyday. Turned the sketch so it's a side folding card, layered the die cuts and used a sentiment from a SSS set called Happy & Smile but don't know if it's still available. No colouring for once but I like the way it turned out.</div>

Poinsettias</h2>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I am addicted to colouring flowers and at this time of year poinsettias always bring such a lovely splash of colour to my Christmas display. So for me this is my favourite stamp this year. I have lots but this years this is the one from Ellen Hutson that has been getting a lot of use. It is no longer available which is a shame. I coloured them both with copics and made a traditional card and a more modern version. Both are layered, the red one fussy cut and the other I used the matching dies. The dies are still available but the stamp is not.</div>

Going for a Ride</h2>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Been a couple of months since I last posted so thought I would get back into a few challenges. This time of year always seen so busy and I just needed some crafty time to relax. I made a card for a friend using the sketch from this weeks <a href="https://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.com/2019/11/freshly-made-sketches-410-sketch-by.html">Freshly Made Sketches 410</a> and used a set from SU called One Wild Ride for the sentiment. The motorbike is an old stamp from Carabelle Studio that I have had for years and was stamped on an old off cut piece of paper from my stash. Added some twine to finish. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I was over the moon as I just love to colour and flowers are my all time favourites and the beautiful poppy is the top of the list. Being married to a career soldier and a Vietnam vet it has a very special place in my heart. Both of our fathers served in WW2 and my husbands Grandfather served in WW1. At 11th November 1918 the guns on the Western Front fell silent after more than 4 years of continuous warfare and it started a <a href="https://www.awm.gov.au/commemoration/remembrance-day/traditions">tradition of 2 minutes silence</a> on the 11th day of the 11th month at 11am the following year. This was later changed to 1 minute and the poppy is the symbol of that day that we call Remembrance Day and now commemorates all those who died or suffered for Australia's cause in all wars and armed conflicts. I made a thank you card and this is the result. </div>

The Secret of Staying Young</h2>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This cute image called Nadia is by <a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/MMedelIllustrations" rel="nofollow" style="background: rgb(255, 255, 255); border-bottom: none; border-image: initial; border-left: 0px; border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; color: #3c78a7; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; position: static !important; text-decoration-line: none; vertical-align: baseline;" target="_blank">M Medel Illustrations</a> and I had to look up eyes as I have never coloured them this big. Not as hard as I thought and like the way they turned out. I think the hardest part was deciding what colour to make them. Kept it simple to show her off and choose a saying I love by Lucille Ball. I have a folder full of fun and quirky sayings and sentiments that I go to often if I have trouble matching one for my cards. The image was coloured with copics, added to a piece of leftover PP then to some black card that was adhered to a yellow card base. Just had to add a few sparkles to match her dress as a every girl needs some bling.</div>

Thanks.</h2>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The greeting this fortnight for the Monday challenge is thanks and I had the perfect image from Eureka Stamps for it as it came with this cute sentiment. Have had it for some time and it has been well used. Both my daughters have cats and it fits many different cards. Was a quick card to make. I printed the image and greeting unto a square card base, coloured the cat with copics then stamped the thanks from a set from Create a Smile. This was then adhered to a piece of green card then to the card base.</div>

Best Wishes</h2>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This card has to be right out of my comfort zone but I love it. The colours are not ones I would normally choose but it was fun to try different combos and this group really worked. Just can't get enough of my Distress Oxides and the way they blend. I seem to be using them on most cards in one way or another. The dies used here are a Sizzix set by Tim Holtz called Funky Floral that I I have never used but will be in the future. I just matched the background colours to scraps of card stock and die cut lots of flowers and leaves. Added two strips of patterned paper to the background and then arranged the flowers and leaves till I was happy, glued them down then stamped a small sentiment. Will have to drag my dies out more often. </div>

You're Fin-tastic</h2>
<div style="text-align: center;">
A friend of my daughters does a lot of voluntary work for her kids school and I have been donating cards for them to sell at their cake stalls etc. They have one coming up for Fathers day this September and so have started making some cards for it. Bought this set by J<a href="https://www.ellenhutson.com/essentials-by-ellen-clear-stamps-swhale-by-julie-ebersole/">ulie Ebersole </a>for Ellen Hutson ages ago and finally inked it up. Used Distress Oxides for the sky, water (old wave stencil used) and the whale. The sentiment and small fish are from the same set and the letters for the dad from a really old cuttlebug alphabet set. Added a piece of twine and a nice easy Fathers Day card done.</div>

I am entering this in the sketch Challenge on Crazy4challenges</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This card sat on my desk for a few days and the more I looked at it the less I was happy with it. It just didn't seem finished so I added some more bits and pieces and I think I like this version better. The colour is slightly different but that was just the light when I took this picture. The Nuvo drops I added are paler than I like but ran out of the darker colour I had.</div>

Poppies</h2>
<div style="text-align: center;">
After seeing Nicolie Tuan's card for the DRD June challenge decided to use up one of the distress oxide backgrounds I made the other day and enter a card. Just love these inks and Rachel's stamps are my all time favourites. Picked the <a href="https://www.darkroomdoor.com/rubber-stamp-sets/rubber-stamp-set-poppies">Poppies set</a> and water coloured the stamped images. Masked the large stamp to create my flower arrangement and after painting added a very light wash of grey around the flowers to make them pop. The sentiment is from the same set and used a yellow embossing powder on back card stock and like the way it matches the background. Can't remember the oxides I used but added some splatters and love the finished card.</div>
