Poppies, Poppies, Poppies.

Image
Watercolour Poppies Another poppy card and not my usual colour for a background but like the end result. The flowers seem to pop of the card against the purple so I think I should try different colours more often. The image, Penny Black , was stamped on watercolour paper and I mounted it onto orange card then onto a very pale grey card base. The watercolours are my old Jasart 24 set and a change from the distress inks I usually grab. The sentiment is a from Simon Says Stamp  and twine from my stash.

Outlawz Colour challenge

Image
Inky Fingers Inked Background The colour challenge at Outlawz this week is to use the following colours and the twist is inked background. I have to admit this is a favourite of mine and next to my copics distress ink comes in at no.2. Have had this card for a while and never used it. I had made a pile of backgrounds when  doing an on-line class and this is one that ended up as a card The colours I used for this background were  spiced marmalade, squeezed lemonade and mowed lawn distress inks. A few water splatters and it was done. The poppies  by Penny Black were stamped with abandoned coral and mowed lawn then I water painted them using the same distress inks. The sentiment is stamped in versafine olympia green ink from the SU Work of Art set. It was a perfect match for this challenge.

Outlawz Colour challenge 21st July

Anything but a card Ursula's colours I finaly found some time to put this together. I originally saw this on line and saved a picture of it to try at a later date. Not sure who thought of the idea but I am sure the papers mentioned were Su. Hope you don't mind that I cased your idea. There were no measurements but it wasn't hard to make it fit the little gift. You could make the size to fit all kinds of presents. The papers I used were Graphic 45's Secret Garden 6 X 6 pad and  freebies  by Jennifer Ellory  called Emma's Garden. Hauled out my old punches to make the flowers and added some leaves (Martha Stewart  punch). Spellbinders plain and Scalloped circles for the front cutout, sentiment is from everyday sayings by Hero arts. I punched to holes for the ribbon and it was done. This was easy to make and thinking of making some for Christmas stocking fillers and a small gift for my crafty group.

ACTSA Claytons Camp ATC Swap

Image
Christmas in July Snowman ATC My local stamping group held their stamp camp this month and we always have an ATC swap. Since it's winter down here in Australia the theme was Christmas in July. Didn't have snow here in Canberra but central New South Wales was a winter wonderland for a couple of days. Most unusual as it mainly falls on the alps. I choose to do a snowman and used a stamp from the Stampin up Best of snow set.The trees are an old Hero arts stamp. I had to make 30 so I used my copics to colour them thinking it would be fairly easy. All was going well until one of my copics needed refilling and of course I didn't have that colour and my local shop didn't have it either. Thank goodness for on-line shopping. Added clear Wink of Stella to the snowbanks and glossy accents to the snowman's hat and nose. Copics: Snowman: N1,3,YR07. Scarf: G14,BV04. Hat: YR12,14,R27. Trees: E27,29. Snowbanks: B000,C0,1. Sky: B0000,000,01.

Water Colouring

Image
Watercolour Pencils Get well Card A few days ago I dragged out my old watercolour pencils and I enjoyed it so much I have coloured a few more images. A couple have made it into cards and I forget how soft a feel they give to the cards. The stamps are both from Penny Black and I love the cat . It is perfect for young and old and kids love it. An old Friend is on the mend after a bout of pneumonia so hopefully this will cheer him up.  Have had the next stamp from Penny Black for ages but never coloured it up. I love the simplicity of the daises  and the other images are all gorgeous. It seems Cas is my thing at the moment and loving the way the cards are turning out. Two cards in one day from start to finish is quick from me. I am on a roll and they just seemed to fall into place with no effort. Hope it stays this way for a while.

The Outlawz CAS Challenge

Sunday Cas Challenge 19th July  Teddy Bears The Sunday Cas Challenge over on the Outlawz blog this week is  all about teddy bears. I love teddy bears and the hardest part of this challenge was choosing a bear to colour. I finally choose this Tattered Teddy called Me to You from Docrafts. Went mad when they first came out bought lots of them and still love to colour them up for cards. For a change I decided to watercolour with my old Jasart Watercolour pencils on Distress watercolour paper. Only have the 24 pack but find thats enough for me. Never been the best at water colouring but love the soft look it gives. The sentiment is from Save the date by Kaiser and the heart from an old Hero arts set called Baby. Added some Glossy Accents to teddy's nose, tag, hearts and part of the sentiment to make them pop.

72 Hour Challenge Gerda has thrown another 72hr challenge and kindly given us this cute free image. Thank you Gerda for your generosity. I added a couple of extra balloons and the happy birthday before printing him out. Have a few birthdays coming up so this will come in handy. Coloured the image with my copics and left it fairly CAS. Used a couple of rectangle dies from Mama Elephant  to cut out the image and PP. The paper is a 6x6 pad from Basicgrey called Offbeat. PP is adhered to a blue card base and then the image is added with foam tape. I kept the card pretty CAS and it makes the mouse and balloons pop. Copics:  Mouse: N1,3,5,R000 and black Multiliner 0.1 for the whiskers. Overalls: B12,14,E79. Balloons: Y04,08,YR000,12,16,YG07,09. Shadow: BG0000. Ground: W1,5. Cheeky Birthday Card

Image
Birthday Present Special Delivery A very dear friend and a very special person had a birthday last month and when I saw this image from Redonkadoodles  called special delivery I just had to make her birthday card with it. It's not every ones cup of tea but she has a great sense of humour and knew she would enjoy it. She did. I coloured the image with copics but lost the slip of paper with the colours. (Now keep a notebook). I added the banners as it looked abit bare ha.ha.ha,... and love how it turned out.
