Freshly Made Sketches #428 - A Sketch by Amy

Image
Just Hang In There When I saw this sketch for some reason all I that saw was someone or something flying. Maybe I have been in self imposed quarantine with hubby for to long and it's affecting me but we are all coping well down here in Australia. Once I started it all came together quickly and this is the result. I cut the wonky frame, stamped the cat from PB Bubbly where I wanted it and another to mask it off, placed the cat mask and coloured the sky. Used a MFT cloud stencil to colour the circle with distress oxide inks in stormy sky and salty ocean. I stamp a 3rd cat on copic friendly paper, coloured it then fussy cut it out. Sponged the same blue distress inks on the frame and adhered it to a cardbase, glued the centre piece into the frame and used dimensionals to adhere the cat. Thought the sentiment was appropriate for now. Copics : Cat: E00, 01, 02, 23, 25, R20. Balloons: Go3, 09, YR04, 07, Y13, 19, B01, 05, BV01, 04, R17, 29.

Altenew Class Rethink Re-inkers Day 4 Embossing Re-inker

Image
Seasons Greetings Had to put the class on hold for a few days but I did managed to get a card done with the embossing re-inker technique. I had fun making the background and this is the result. The card was easy to make and I love the result. The trees are from Gina K and the sentiment from Penny Black. The background was made with Zing pewter and silver embossing powers and I used Zing gold for the trees. The sentiment was done with an old super fine gold I have had for ages and I have forgotten the brand and the label is missing. Shame about that as it is the best I have used.

Crazy 4 Challenges

Image
Tom & Tilly When I read the subject for this weeks challenge I knew just the stamp I wanted to use. Don't use it enough but it says it all about Grandparents and I didn't add a sentiment as the image just conveys the love shared by these two. I used copics to colour them and then adhered it to a pale red card mat then onto a grey card base. Love the simplicity of this card.  Copics: Tilly: Top & Skirt: R30,32,43,46,/C0,3,7.   Shoes: N3,5,7,W7. Hair: W000,0,1,5. Skin: E000,01,11. Tom:  Jacket & Pants: B95,97,99,/E50,53,55. The Outlawz Monthly Progressive Challenge

Image
Lazy Sunday Love this image this month from Grateful Heart Digis and I just had to make an Aussie scene with it. I printed the gum trees from Make it Crafty  first then drew in the ground and coloured them with oxide distress inks to make the background. I then printed the store, extra dog on xpress it card, coloured them with copics and fussy cut them out. Used flat tape to adhere the store and mounting tape for the dog. The birds are from a set called Spread Cheer from Penny Black. The dog is from an old Sparkle and Sprinkle set called Scratchy. Copics:  Store:  Walls: E41,43,44. Veranda/roof/posts: E70,71,74. Doors/windows: B32,34,99,BG0000. Books: YR31,YG61,R05. Signs: R46,C0. Barrel: E13,17. Pumpkin: YR04,07,YG67. Dogs: E31,33,35,79,C0,5,9.

AAA Cards Cas Challenge

Image
Have a Fabulous Birthday I have been messing around with watercolours so this challenge fits right in. The stamp is from Penny black  called Divine and was such fun to colour. I heat embossed the image with white embossing powder and then just played with different colours. Used a paint set I bought from my local Hot Dollar store ages ago and though they are not the greatest I had fun. Watercolouring is fun as you do not want it to be perfect and I love the patterns the paint creates. Different every time. The sentiment is from Stampin' ups Thoughtful Banners set. It is great for making up your own sayings as the words are all separate. I white embossed it on black card to give the card some contrast. I am entering the card into the Cas Game #84 Watercolour challenge. I am also adding it to Uniko Studio Happy 5th Birthday party Link.

Crazy 4 Challenges - C4C369

Image
The Future Looks Rosy My first time entering this challenge and this was a great one to start with. I had fun playing with the sketch and it's one I will use again. The image used was an old freebie from Penny Black that has to be a least 3 yrs old and found when my DH helped reorganise my craft room. We had to move it all out to lay the new carpet and I decided I needed new shelves. It's amazing what you put away and forget. I coloured the cat with copics and layered in onto some pink cardstock. The pink strip was cut from Spellbinders Curved Boarders Two that was adhered over an old scrap of PP from Rosie's Studio, that was then adhered to a pale grey card base. Added some mounting tape to the image to give it some dimension. The Sketch Copics: Cat: W1,3,5,9,10,R12. Roses: R56,59,89. Leaves & Stems: YG13,17. Paper Wrapping: R000,83,85,89,N1. Hearts: R27,89. Ground: E41,43,44. Shadow: V0000.

Bugaboo Challenge Make us Laugh

Merry Christmas Present I fell in love with this JJ Christmas Box image and had to buy it. I have a dear friend that this is so her and it will be her Christmas card for 2017, also it was the perfect image for this make me laugh challenge. I kept the card clean and simple and it really makes her stand out. I used my copics to colour the image and the tag and greeting  are from Penny Black Christmas sets. I adhered the finished image to a red card piece from my stash then onto a white card base.  Copics:  Skin: E50,53,55,R20. Hair: E70,71,74,77,79. Glasses: B00. Bows; R27,89. Boots: C5,7,9,100. Outlawz Freebie Monthly Challenge

Image
Micemas Post This month the freebie is this adorable image from Di's Digis . I have a few of these cute critters and they are a joy to colour. I used copics and then went around the edges with broken china and pumice stone distress inks. The sentiment is from Penny Blacks The Wonder set. The panel was then adhered to black cardstock and onto blue PP from the Echo Park 6 x 6 Season's Greetings pack that I added some white organza ribbon and silver cord to before adhering it to a black card base. Added some Wink of Stella for some shine and another Christmas card done. Copics:  Mice: E40,51,53,55,R20,W1. Santa Hat: R37,59,B000,01,C0. Post Box: R14,27,29,46,N1,3,5,7,E41,44,47,49. Outlawz Monday Greetings Challenge

Image
Happy Birthday Smiles The theme this week is circles and how could you go wrong with a circle card.  Well you can if you don't have something big enough to cut out the large circles. I water coloured these lovely  birds from Penny Black  then realised my spellbinders circle dies weren't big enough. Thought I would have to trace around something then hand cut them out when I remembered my old Creative Memories circle cutters. The trouble was it took me ages to find them and I was seriously thinking of starting again when I found them. So much for the quick card I thought I was making. The PP I found, when looking for the cutters, I liked better than the one I had picked out but it must be at least 10 years old and has no name on it so don't know who it's from. The smile stamp is from   Simon Says Stamp s and the happy birthday from Winnie & Walter that I combined to make the sentiment. It's a wonder my quick card ever made it to the finish line but I...

Outlawz Colour challenge

Image
Inky Fingers Inked Background The colour challenge at Outlawz this week is to use the following colours and the twist is inked background. I have to admit this is a favourite of mine and next to my copics distress ink comes in at no.2. Have had this card for a while and never used it. I had made a pile of backgrounds when  doing an on-line class and this is one that ended up as a card The colours I used for this background were  spiced marmalade, squeezed lemonade and mowed lawn distress inks. A few water splatters and it was done. The poppies  by Penny Black were stamped with abandoned coral and mowed lawn then I water painted them using the same distress inks. The sentiment is stamped in versafine olympia green ink from the SU Work of Art set. It was a perfect match for this challenge.

Nearly Done

Have just about finished my Christmas cards for this year. All ready to post or deliver so should beat the rush at the post office. These two I did today for two old friends as I wont be able to catch up before Christmas. Used an image from the Penny Black stamp set  the Wonder . They are just so cute and seem to be getting plenty of use this Christmas. The first one was made using scraps so I have no idea of the name of the PP and coloured with copics. The border punch is Stamping up and sentiment was a present last year from my stamping group (ACTSA).  Copics: Hedgehog E50,53,55,74,77,C7  Scraf & Mittens B12,14,16,18 Presents B45,93,99,Y04,YR16,YG07,09,R46 Sled E35,37,Multi Liner Sepia Robin E25,50,53,R24 Ground W3,5, Blender 0 Shadow B0000 The same image was used for the second card, just used different colours, and stuck fairly close with the same basic sketch. The PP for this was a freebie from Australian Simply Cards a couple of years...

Back at Last.

I cannot believe I have not posted since April. Where has the year gone. I Really have no excuse, just seems there is never enough time to do the things you plan and family and trips away take over. Not that I am complaining as we had the most fab trip to Canada and Alaska. Also managed some time in LA doing the tourist things. Not much crafting but have a couple of Christmas cards and an ATC.The cards are for my DD's and I think I need some more time using my copics as it took for ever. Both cards and ATC use Penny Black stamps. Copics: Cat E13,17,18,31,35. Mouse W0,03,05,C0,B26,29. Tree G29,94,YG23,E17,27,29. Baubles Y11,27,YR14. Star Y15. Shadows BV0000,E70,71.
