Freshly Made Sketches 410

Image
Going for a Ride Been a couple of months since I last posted so thought I would get back into a few challenges. This time of year always seen so busy and I just needed some crafty time to relax. I made a card for a friend using the sketch from this weeks Freshly Made Sketches 410 and used a set from SU called One Wild Ride for the sentiment. The motorbike is an old stamp from Carabelle Studio that I have had for years and was stamped on an old off cut piece of paper from my stash. Added some twine to finish.

Color Throwdown 541

Image
Birthday Party Pandas Having a break must be good for me as I seem to have lots of ideas for cards drifting through my brain. When I saw the colours for this challenge I knew what I wanted to try and it turned out pretty much like I imagined.  Love these pandas from SU and they are fun to colour with most mediums.    Used copics to colour them and die cut some small clouds from Memory box to give the illusion they were floating. The sentiment was one I cut out ages ago and never used  It was originally joined but was to big so I did some fussy cutting and it fits okay now. Added dimensional magic to the pandas eyes and the balloons then onto a pink card base. Copics: Pandas: C00,N0,1. Hat: RV23,25. Balloons: RV000,11,21.43. Shadow: E0000.

Altenew Class Rethink Re-inkers Day 2

Image
Get Whale Soon Day 2 and another card done. Made a couple of backgrounds but only had time to make one card and I like this one so will try to use the other  piece soon. I used a free digi from a craft magazine with lots of sea images and sentiments and a stamp from the SU set called By the Tide. Coloured the Whale with copics in matching inks and it came together nice and quick.

Faeryink Halloween ATC Swap.

Image
Halloween Faeryink are having a Halloween ATC swap and I decided to have a play. I like ATCs and it makes me think out of the box and is a change from card making. My monthly stamp group does one and have done a few others. This one was easy as I only had to do three and they could all be different. I downloaded a few great images from Faeryink and used the Raven Nevermore and Witchball on two of them and a witch image from DeliciousDoodles . Sorry this post is so long but I like to list the colours I use and it is usually only for one project. On the raven ATC I used Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolours to colour all the images. The house and bats are from SU 's Halloween Scares stamp set and the gravestones from a Make it Crafty  digi image. I fussy cut the raven and two of the gravestones to fit and used a circle dye for the moon. Added some Wink of Stella clear to the moon for some sparkle and glossy accents on the house windows. Watercolours: Windows 33,40. Sta...

Colouring with my Prisma Pencils

Image
Shine Haven't played with my pencils for awhile and as I have been trying to use more of what I have decided to use them on this scene. In hind sight I should have gone with something a little less complicated. I like doing scenes but usually not with prismas and I think I need to get them out more often as they are so different to other mediums. I masked the dancing girl stamp from Stampin' ups  Beautiful You so it looks like she is dancing in the street scene from Mediterranean Moments. The sentiment is from the High Tide set, also by Stampin' up but I masked off part of it and used my Misti to stamp just the parts I wanted.

Playing with New Oxide Distress Ink

Image
The Lighthouse Have been having a break the last few weeks but had to try out the new oxide distress inks that I received last week. They are fun to use and different to the ordinary distress inks especially on backgrounds. I have quite a collection made so will have to make some more cards. This is my first card using them. It is a ocean scene using the High Tide set from SU. I stamped the lighthouse twice, one on the card and the other for a mask. Punched a circle for the sun, Masked of the lighthouse, water and sun just played with the inks. When I was happy with the sky I tore some paper and did the coastline though it also looks like low clouds. Removed the water mask stamped the rocks, stamped over them with versamark ink and heat embossed them with clear embossing powder. Leaving the lighthouse mask in place sponged the water and added the waves, birds.and light. The sun looked too white so added some pale yellow ink and all it heeded was a sentiment. I couldn't fi...

Actsa MonthlyTrading Card Swap

Image
One Wild Ride. It's our monthly stamp group meeting and the ATC challenge is wood/ metal  etc. As I had just finished a card for the crazy4challenges this week using a motorbike I decided to use the same theme for my ATC. A Harley is a large mass of metal and I placed it on a wooden backdrop so really covered all the bases. The stamp, sentiment and tyre tread are from SU's one wild ride set and I stamped them onto the Kaiser wood patterned background. I lightly stamped a Kaiser wood grain stamp over the PP for some more texture. Added two metal brads to the sentiment and sponged some black ink around it and the image then adhered it to the ATC with dimensional tape.

Gerda Steiner Designs Monthly Challenge

Image
Parachute Piggy The Freebie this month is this cute image of a pig parachuting and since I am on a roll this week with Christmas cards it had be a card to add to the pile. I printed the image twice, one for the base panel and one to colour and fussy cut. The base panel was cut to 5 ins and I masked an area at the bottom for the snow bank and used distress inks for the sky. When I was happy with the colour I stamped the tops of the trees from the SU Wonderland set in versafine black ink, removed the mask and added Shaded Lilac to the snow bank. Added snowflakes with MIC Falling Snow background stamp using SU Whisper White ink. Coloured piggy and the parachute with copics, fussy cut them out and adhered them on the card panel. The banner is from SU Hello December and the sentiment is from Papertrey Ink Vintage Ornaments and I used mounting tape to adhere it for some dimension. The panel was then mounted onto a 51/4 in white card base. The distress inks used Tumbled Glass, Salty O...

Outlawz Sunday CAS Challenge

Image
Last of Spring Haven't used watercolours for a while so dragged them out for this corner flower garden from SU. I distress inked a background, placed a stencil over it and sprayed it with some water that had perfect pearls added. Gives it a lovely soft pattern that doesn't distract from the flowers. Used my Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolours for the flowers then spent ages fussy cutting them out and used liquid glue to adhere them to the background. Won't be doing that again any time soon but love the finished look so it was worth it. Stamped a greeting with Versamark ink on some black card and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. Wasn't sure if I liked it so did another one on white card with black embossing but went with the black.

Just having fun Colouring

Image
Girl with the red Hair Had this image from Jenlee at Digistamps4Joy  sitting in my images to colour box for awhile and decided to have a play. I admire those ladies that seem to do the most fantastic hair with copics and tired some new colours. Realise I still need a lot of practise but it was fun.  Have a dear friend that is not looking forward to her birthday this month as she thinks she is getting old so this will be for her and hope it will cheer her up. She is younger than me and awesome so I should be the one worrying. The PP is a Stamin Up piece left over from a project, (think it was from a Christmas collection) and the awesome die from Verve  was cut from the same colour CS as one of the card mounts. The image is mounted on purple card to match the card base and I added some purple twine, Glossy accents for some shine on the awesome and Wink of Stella on the flowers. Copics: Skin: E01,02,11,R08,20. Hair: YR14,18,21,E08. Eyes: YG11,13,17. ...

Outlawz Progressive Challenge

Image
January Challenge Birthday Card My first card for 2016 as I decided to have a nice break. Maybe not a great idea as I got an invitation from a dear friend for a week in Bali for her sister in law's birthday at the last moment and you can't turn down that. Now trying to get things done before I leave next week. Don't Know about others but found my mogo seems to be having a break too. Kept it clean and simple and hope the birthday girl likes it. Sentiment is from a set from SU called Birthday Blossoms. Had to cut it in half to fit but doesn't hurt the stamp and you get more use that way. The image is from Sandi's Samples . The only embellishment is the three hearts, coloured to match then added with mounting tape. Also added Dimensional Magic to add a bit of gloss. Copics:  Roses: R81,83,85,89. Leaves: G24,YG67. Shadow: C0.1.3.

An Other Christmas Card

Image
Kitten In a Gift Bag Another gorgeous kitten image from Gerda Steiner  and as my youngest is such a cat lover I think this might be her Christmas card this year. Have been trying to get them all finished so have not been posting them as I do them . Copics was my choice to colour the image and I then cut it out and framed it with a pierced square die from MFT . The sentiment die is from Impression Obsession  and the border is a punch from EK Success  though it is an old one that I have had for ages so not sure if it is still available. The ribbon is from SU. I added Diamond Stickles from Ranger to the hat and Clear Wink of Stella to the Stars. The ribbons on the presents have Dimensional Magic added to them to add some gloss but it doesn't show up on the photo. Copics:  Cat: E01.02,11,W10 Hat: R24,29,46,59. Bag: B0000,01,G0000,00,02 Stars: Y17,21 Tree: G24,28,29,E29,39,R59. Presents: R000,20,YR000,B21,23,37,39,C0. Ground: W0,1,3.

Outlawz Wednesday Sketch Challenge

Image
Hugs and Kisses The sketch this week fitted in so well for me as I had just finished this Penny Black image freebie that I have had for ages. There were six free images in some card magazine and have been colouring them up for to have on hand to make some quick cards. These lovable mice just make me happy. I cut them out with a spellbinders oval die then layered it onto a scalloped die cut. The PP is from Kaisers Sandy Toes 6x6 pad that is layered on some pink CS, added the twine then adhered it to a white card base. Used a SU punch for the hearts and covered them with glossy accents for some shine. The sentiment is computer generated, die cut to match the image then adhered with mounting tape. Copics: Mice: W0,3,5,7. Large flower: RV21,23,25,E08. Small Flowers: YR61.RV21,E08. Hearts: RV29. Grass: YG:07,09,23,G09. Sky: BG0000,02. The Sketch

Outlawz Tuesday Colour Challenge

Image
Autumn Leaves AJ choose the colour scheme for this week and they are perfect for an Autumn/Fall card. You had to use at least three colours but could use more if you liked. As it is spring here I googled some Autumn pictures to remind me of some of the colours I would need. I just picked the colours I wanted to use so they are not true to the Autumn leaves proper shades. I like the way they turned out and they went with my background. I think the term they use is poetic licence and I definitely used that on this card. The background is alcohol inks blended on glossy paper I made when trying out different colour combinations and this was perfect. Added strips of torn coloured card stock to the top and adhered it to black card leaving a narrow border. The tag is a die from MFT  that I printed the sentiment from Tiffany Doodles  on the bottom corner then taped it to the card. Added the twine and leaves with mounting square before adding the button and bow then mounting it to a...

Twisted Thursday Challenge

Image
With Love The optional twist this week on the challege is to have an animal on your entry. I choose this cute digital image called best friends  from Tiddly Inks. Nice and easy to colour and these two just make you feel all warm and fuzzy. I used copics and then added some glossy accents to their noses, ribbons and the hearts over the sentiment. The seniment is from SU's Field Flowers stamp set as is the lace.  The border punch is from fiskars and the PP is a Webster's pages 6x6 pad called Trend Setters. The image was cut out with a MFT pierced oval stax die as was the sentiment. Copics:  Dog: E11,13,17,RV42. Collar:R59. Cat: N1,3,7,RV42. Collar: RV17. Bows: BG11,34,49,RV14,17. Bone: C0,1. Fish: BV00,G00,C1. Grass: YG11,13,17. Sky: B0000. Hearts: RV17.

Outlawz Monday Greeting Card Challenge

Image
Tic Tac Toe Amazing you Had a lovely couple of days with my youngest daughter and no crafting, surfing the web, or mobile phone. I am the only one in the family that seems to be able to live for a few days without them and it is so relaxing. If I miss something then it was ment to be, friends will always ring back and the world doesn't end. I did manage to finish one challenge when I got back home and it's for a friends birthday.  I used the centre panel across from the tic tac toe diagram. I love the sentiment Amazing You from a Hostess set Express Yourself from SU and it fits her to a tee. I stamped an image from the Moulin Divas-Belle Femme by Kanban and coloured her with my copics. The embossing folder is cuttlebug plum blossom 2 from Provo Craft and the die is Honeypot from Couture Creations.  Copics:  Skin: E50,51,R20, 29. Hair: E17,19. Hat/dress: R08,27,C3,7. Gloves: C0,3,7. Background: C0,1,3. Having fun with adding dots to the background...

Outlawz Colour challenge

Image
Inky Fingers Inked Background The colour challenge at Outlawz this week is to use the following colours and the twist is inked background. I have to admit this is a favourite of mine and next to my copics distress ink comes in at no.2. Have had this card for a while and never used it. I had made a pile of backgrounds when  doing an on-line class and this is one that ended up as a card The colours I used for this background were  spiced marmalade, squeezed lemonade and mowed lawn distress inks. A few water splatters and it was done. The poppies  by Penny Black were stamped with abandoned coral and mowed lawn then I water painted them using the same distress inks. The sentiment is stamped in versafine olympia green ink from the SU Work of Art set. It was a perfect match for this challenge.

Birthday Madness.

Image
Birthday Cards Needed to make four cards this week and I am pleased to say that I managed in three days. I'm not the fasted card maker and I can get distracted web browsing to often. The first is for a special friend for his 60th. The digital image is from Redonkadoodles  and I just love their cheeky images. Used my copics and left the card simple to show of the image. Copics: Skin E50, E51, E53, R20. Hair: C3, C5, C7. Cake: E17, E19, E95. Icing: E000, E11, E41. Cherries: R46, R89. Ribbon: B12, B14, B16. Shadow: B0000 The next three for some special friends that make life so much better for knowing them.  Two images are coloured with copics and I used SU stamps. On card one I used Stippled Blossoms, stamped flower twice in pink (kaiser), leaves in cottage ivy (memento) then fussy cut one flower and some leaves to add dimension. The patterned paper is from Lily of the Valley 8"x 8" bonnets and bowties pad. Card two I used a flower and the leave...
