All dressed up Challenge 66

A Cuddle makes it Better. The girl and her dog is such a cute image and I know a dear friend will appreciate it as she has been feeling down after losing her beloved pet. Kept the card simple by making the image the centre piece with no other embellishments. Coloured it with copics, adhered it to a simple blue cardstock matt then onto a white card base and all done.  Copics: Skin: E0000,00,01,11,55,R20. Hair: E08,11,19. Dress: G0000,00,02. Dog; N1,3. Bow: B32,41,45. Ground: E41,42,,43. Shadow: W0.

Addicted to Stamps Challenge 142

1920's Chic The challenge at Addicted to stamps this fortnight is to use a number and this is my entry. This very chic lady is from a Darkroom door set titled 1920's Chic and I die cut the numbers with an old cuttle bug set and made them a focal point. Coloured the image with copics, fussy cut it out and adhered her over another stamp from the same set. I stamped the words twice with memento London Fog ink as I wanted them to be in the background.  Copics: Skin: E50,51,53,R20. Dress: R17,22,29,C9. Belt: N1,7,100.

Your next stamp Challenge #58

Image
Friends The latest challenge over on Your Next Stamp blog is a sketch or colour challenge. I decided to combine them both as I like the chosen colours. When I remodeled my craft room I found a container with a pile of printed and stamped images that I cant even remember doing. This rose was one I picked out to colour and thought it would be great in the challenge colours. I have no idea the artists name or company where it came from, so if anyone knows I would be grateful if the can let me know so I can give them credit.   I used my new Zig brush markers and think I need to play alot more with them but am happy with my fist try. The patterned papers are bits left over from my scrapbooking days ( I don't throw anything away) and they match perfectly. The sentiment is from Polkadoodles  that I rearranged to fit. These are the colours and sketch for the challenge.

Di's Digi Designs Challenge

Image
Just for You. The challenge this week at Di's digi challenge blog is to include an animal and I just love this cute mouse with the adoring look.  I went for copics to colour him and kept the card uncluttered to show him off. Went with a pink cardstock for the image backing and the same colour for the card base. The PP is and old piece from Kaiser and I added pink ribbon and bow to give it some dimension.  Copics: Mouse: E01,W0,1,3,5. Flowers: B0000,000,00,01. Leanes and Stems: YG17,21,23. Ground: E51,55. Shadow: W00,0. Added some glossy accents to the flower centres and clear wink of stella to the bow.

Gerda Steiner Designs Monthly Challenge

Image
When Life Gives You Lemons I can't believe the month has just about gone. Time flies bye so fast and I never seem to get all the things I want to do done. Being a short month doesn't help but I did get this months challenge finished.  The freebie is this adorable piggy   (still time to play) making a real mess of himself. I coloured him with my copics, cut the image out with a die from Simon says Stamps and then had fun adding the chocolate bars around him. I found the bar on google, made it the size I wanted then printed and cut them out. The sentiment is an old freebie from Paulaposts.blogspot.com I thought was perfect for this as I don't do Valentines day cards.  My hubby and I have never celebrated just one day as we felt it should be something that you do anytime. It seems to have worked for us as we have managed to last the last 48 Yrs. He still surprises me often and I love doing the same. Makes it a lot more fun. Copics:  Piggy: R000,20,22,W1,E71,77,

Less is More Alphabet 316

Image
G'day from Sydney There is a new challenge up at Less is More and it's all about the alphabet. I have had a small background stamp from Hampton Art by 7gypsies that I have never used and thought this challenge would be the perfect time to ink it up.  First I stamped the Sydney Opera House from Darkroom Door onto a piece of white cardstock, stamped it again on masking paper and cut it out. Placed the mask over the image, stamped the cities of the world background using my Misti to make sure I had a good impression. I then stamped the g'day from the same Darkroom Door set and attached it to a black card base. Was going to just have it all white but I think I like the contrast of the black. This must be the first card in months I have not coloured  my image and I glad I tried something different.

One Wild Ride. It's our monthly stamp group meeting and the ATC challenge is wood/ metal  etc. As I had just finished a card for the crazy4challenges this week using a motorbike I decided to use the same theme for my ATC. A Harley is a large mass of metal and I placed it on a wooden backdrop so really covered all the bases. The stamp, sentiment and tyre tread are from SU's one wild ride set and I stamped them onto the Kaiser wood patterned background. I lightly stamped a Kaiser wood grain stamp over the PP for some more texture. Added two metal brads to the sentiment and sponged some black ink around it and the image then adhered it to the ATC with dimensional tape.

Crazy4Challenges - C4C373

Born to be Wild This week the challenge is a sketch and for me it's not something I use very often. I usually stamp or print my image, colour it and then just wing it. Most times it works but I confess it makes for some chopping and changing that takes time. This was for me a fast card and I maybe should do them more often. The image is from Just Inked Lined  and as my DH has a Harley I make lots of bikie cards. I coloured it with copics and then fussy cut it, adhered it to a piece of Kaiser PP from their Base Coat range. The sentiment I heard of years ago and use it often as my Hubby says that sums up what it feels like to ride. Born to be wild is from the same set. Adhered it all to a red card base. Copics:  Bike: R17,22,27,29,N1,3,5,C0,1,5,7,9. Blinkers: YR00,02. Lights: B01,C0. Shadow: W0.

Less is More Challenge 315

Opposites Attract This challenge had me using my thinking cap as I wanted to make a card that was suitable for a few options. I don't make valentine day cards as we try to send that message through out the year. I guess it works for us as we have been married 48 years and he still surprises me with his little poems and gifts. The card will be a great one for our youngest daughter who is a cat lover. The images are from Angies Stamps called Kitty in Flowers   and Mouse eating Cheese  that I played with in photoshop to create this scene. The sentiment was computer generated and the hearts from a set by Gerda Steiner Designs that I think is no longer available. I used copics to colour it up and love the result. It is definately a one layer card. My daughter set up the blog and when I insert the photo it looks fine but when I publish it, it adds a white border. Have no idea how to fix it as I am not the greatest with computers. Copics:  Cat: E01,11,13,15,19,G40,R20,W9. M

Less is More Challenge 314

The Tree of Life Some-one ask me what is your style the other day and I really had no idea. I tend to make cards of different styles for specific people or a request from some-one. Lately they have been more CAS and I am enjoying the results.  I still struggle a bit doing these cards but the challenges are helping . My first card uses a stamp from Darkroom Door called Trees and the sentiment is from the same set. Used distress inks in blue, green and yellow and stamped the tree over it when it was dry. Used the heat gun as I like the way it moves the colour around and it gives it some nice patterns. Mounted it on a blue card base and one down. The second card is similar but I used green , yellow and orange. The stamp is another Darkroom Door set called Wildflowers Vol 1 . They have some lovely sets that are great for this type of card. I adhered the card front to a green piece of cardstock then to a white card base. The cards do look white in real life. I am entering the Tr

Happy Birthday Friend

Poker Face I saw this stamp at our monthly ACTSA  (ACT Stamp Association) meeting and just had to buy it. One of our members has on-line store and she finds the most amazing stamps for all over the world. We are very limited in Australia compared to US and UK  so I tend to buy online from a few sites that actually get stamps from overseas. I find that the postage some US sites charge stop me from purchasing their products but there are still plenty that are reasonable. My favourites are digis but  I love to buy stamps as well. Some people would say I'm addicted (hubby would be one) but life's to short to worry and I love making cards. The stamp is from Crafter Companion and designed by Kathleen Francour called Poker Face. It is for a dear friends birthday this week. I coloured her with copics and kept it CAS, just stamping the sentiment from the set in the top right corner. Adhered it to a pale yellow card base as I really wanted the image to star. Copics: Skin: E

The Outlawz Monthly Progressive Challenge

Happy Birthday Friend Two friends share the same birth date this month and I thought the image from Bugaboo would be a perfect birthday card for one of them. I may even do another with the same image. After printing it out I coloured the image with copics and hand drew a border around it before mounting it on an aqua blue card base. Added some tiny hearts, some bling for the flower centres and a happy birthday die sentiment from Elizabeth Craft Designs . A nice quick card. Copics:  Flowers: RV11,13,14,17,V01,12,15,17,R56. Leaves: Co2,03,05,09,12,20,21,23,25,YG17,41,63,67,Y02. Butterflies: B21,23,R14,YR02,18,E08. Background: B0000,00,BG11,15.

The Outlawz Tuesday Colour Challenge

Image
Memories When I saw the colours for the Tuesday colour challenge this image just popped into my head. Haven't entered it for awhile but had to use the Old Truck from Darkroom Door and it is an old favourite, especially for male cards. The image was stamped on yellow paper then I used my distress inks to colour it up and then prisma pencils for some definition. The same paper was used for the backing and I tore the edge for some contrast, added some twine before adhering it to a black card base. The sentiment is from a kaiser set called True romance. The title doesn't seem to match masculine cards but love that the sentiments give a tile look. This was such a quick and easy card to make and I think it matches the colour criteria.

Addicted to Stamps Challenge # 140

Brrrr........It's The theme for this challenge is Baby It's Cold Outside  and I choose to colour this adorable image from Mo Manning called Chill  as she really does look cold. Penny Black  has the Stamp and Mo has the Digi. I used copics and didn't add any embellishments as the image just jumps of the page and it really didn't need them. It was adhered to a orange card base just to add an extra touch of colour. The sentiment was printed unto a piece of x-press it blending card then cut to size before I stamped the image.  Copics:  Skin & Lips: E01,02,11,13,R20,22. Coat& Hat: B12,14,16,18. Fur Trim: BV0000,C1,3. Boots: W0,3,5,7. Breathe: B0000. Scarf: YR00,02,07. Snow: B21,41. Shadow: BV0000.

AAA Cards Cas Challenge #82

Image
Winter Chill Cabin in the Snow When I started this card it was 38C and my DH thought it was strange I was making a card about snow, cold and Winter. We have had a very hot summer so far. Bought a Stampers Anonymous stamp set by Tim Holtz called Holiday Drawings  last year and never  managed to make any cards with it for last Christmas but it was perfect for this challenge. I will have quite a few ready for next year as I just love this set. I stamped the image in the bottom right corner and used a sentiment from the same set. Went with my copics to colour the cabin a tried to keep it soft and cold looking. Added some snow with white enamel accents and then left it alone. I think I am finally getting the hang of CAS cards. Copics: Cabin: E001,13,37,71,Y04,17. Trees: E71,Yg63,67. Deer: N3,7. Snow: B0000,000,01, white gel pen. I used a copic sepia multiliner 0.3 for highlights on the cabin and Fence.
