The Outlawz Progressive Monthly Challenge

Image
Celebrate My daughter has moved back home to Canberra so I am surprised I have my card finished early. It's been a busy month but so nice to have her close again. This month the image is this an a adorable cat image from Anne Fenton.  Anne's Digital Art.  It was a joy to colour and I had to make it a birthday card for my cat loving friend. Coloured it with my copics then cut it out with a plain spellbinder circle die. Thought it needed more so cut a scalloped die for some contrast, also from spellbinders.  Used a PP from Kaiser pad Something Blue to the black card base then adhered the cat.The celebrate and words are from Avery Elle and are matching dies and stamps called sentimental . I used the celebrate die, white embossed the words then placed them around the image.   Copics: Cat: N1,3,5,7,G21. Pot: E04,08,09. Flowers: R21,43,RV25,YR07. Leaves Pale: YG00,09,G24. Outlawz Monthly Progressive Freebie Challenge

Image
Spread Your Wings. This month the Image is designed by Mary Smith for Createful Heart Digis and on the Progressive  Freebie team. It is a lovely image and great to colour. I did have to Google hummingbirds as I had no idea what colours they where and there are a lot. I printed two, coloured one with my copics and just the bird on the second image. Used a Spellbinders circle die to cut it out and then placed a die from Kaiser called circle vines over the top and trimmed it to fit. I made sure the bud and the bird tail were not cut cut so they could hang over the die to give it some dimension. Added the second bird with mounting tape after I fussy cut it out, fixed to a purple card base and a nice clean and simple card to add to my stash. Copics:  Flowers: V04,BV11,13,17,YR68. Leaves & Stems: G12,14,24,28,29. Bird: E11,13,44,47,G24,YG41,N9. Shadow: N1,C0.

Crazy 4 Challenges - C4C369

Image
The Future Looks Rosy My first time entering this challenge and this was a great one to start with. I had fun playing with the sketch and it's one I will use again. The image used was an old freebie from Penny Black that has to be a least 3 yrs old and found when my DH helped reorganise my craft room. We had to move it all out to lay the new carpet and I decided I needed new shelves. It's amazing what you put away and forget. I coloured the cat with copics and layered in onto some pink cardstock. The pink strip was cut from Spellbinders Curved Boarders Two that was adhered over an old scrap of PP from Rosie's Studio, that was then adhered to a pale grey card base. Added some mounting tape to the image to give it some dimension. The Sketch Copics: Cat: W1,3,5,9,10,R12. Roses: R56,59,89. Leaves & Stems: YG13,17. Paper Wrapping: R000,83,85,89,N1. Hearts: R27,89. Ground: E41,43,44. Shadow: V0000.

Outlawz Wednesday Sketch Challege

Image
Mermaid's Wish With hubby away for a week I have had more time for playing in my craft room. I love the Wednesday sketch at Outlawz so here is my take on it. The image is called little mermaid from Digistamp Atelier  and so easy to colour with the shading done for you. I reversed the image to fit in with the sketch and coloured her with copics. The PP is from a kaiser 61/2 x 61/2 paper pad called Sandy Toes and I choose the sentiment and shells from the matching collectables set. So easy to to co-ordinate everything as they do the hard work for you. Used circle dies from spellbinders to cut the image out and adhered it to the wood panel. This was them mounted onto the card base with  dimensional tape over the twine. Decided it need something else so added a strip of pp next to the wood panel. Copics: Skin: E000,00,01,02,R21. Hair: N1,3,7,white gel pen. Flowers & Leaves: Y13,18,YR15,G05,28. Tail: BG10,11,13,15. Rock: E50,53,55. The background was...

Merry Christmas Bear

Image
Shopping all Done This is such a cute stamp from LOTV call Jenny - All Shopped but it is no longer available. I use it every Christmas but they are always adding new ones so you can check for their new stamps. Their stamps are hard to resist. I coloured her with copics then cut it out with a oval die from MFT   then mounted it on an old scrap of PP. The sentiment is from Couture Creations merry little Christmas collection called Christmas Banners and the snowflake border is called tinsel and is also from Couture Creations. The snowflakes are Spellbinders and Cheery Lyn dies. I tend to cut an assortment and keep them handy so I can pick and chose the ones that suit my card. Some bling from my stash and some twine finished this panel that I adhered to an aqua card base. Copics:  Bear: E70,71,74. Hat: R24,35,37,N1,Bg10,,C0,1,3. Scarf: R24,35,Y13,15,17, Presents:YG21,23,B01,02,21,23,34,41,R05,41,C0,1,3. Bags: Yg63,G82,BG11,15. Tags: E000,01,42,43. ...

Outlawz Wednesday Sketch Challenge

Image
Hugs and Kisses The sketch this week fitted in so well for me as I had just finished this Penny Black image freebie that I have had for ages. There were six free images in some card magazine and have been colouring them up for to have on hand to make some quick cards. These lovable mice just make me happy. I cut them out with a spellbinders oval die then layered it onto a scalloped die cut. The PP is from Kaisers Sandy Toes 6x6 pad that is layered on some pink CS, added the twine then adhered it to a white card base. Used a SU punch for the hearts and covered them with glossy accents for some shine. The sentiment is computer generated, die cut to match the image then adhered with mounting tape. Copics: Mice: W0,3,5,7. Large flower: RV21,23,25,E08. Small Flowers: YR61.RV21,E08. Hearts: RV29. Grass: YG:07,09,23,G09. Sky: BG0000,02. The Sketch

Outlawz Monday Greetings Challenge

Image
Happy Birthday Smiles The theme this week is circles and how could you go wrong with a circle card.  Well you can if you don't have something big enough to cut out the large circles. I water coloured these lovely  birds from Penny Black  then realised my spellbinders circle dies weren't big enough. Thought I would have to trace around something then hand cut them out when I remembered my old Creative Memories circle cutters. The trouble was it took me ages to find them and I was seriously thinking of starting again when I found them. So much for the quick card I thought I was making. The PP I found, when looking for the cutters, I liked better than the one I had picked out but it must be at least 10 years old and has no name on it so don't know who it's from. The smile stamp is from   Simon Says Stamp s and the happy birthday from Winnie & Walter that I combined to make the sentiment. It's a wonder my quick card ever made it to the finish line but I...

Outlawz Thursday Twisted Challenge

Image
Happy Birthday My second blog post on the same day is just about a record for me. I feel real happy with myself if I manage one but hubby has decided we need a day at the coast so had to get the Thursday challenge done to have it in on time. The twist this week is layers and I love layers. Most of my cards were like this until I discovered Cas cards so enjoyed making this for a dear friends 89th birthday. Vi is such a special person and I can imagine her looking like this when she was young. Used a stamp called Flapper Melody from Crafts and Me and the flowers, another old stamp called Dotted Flowers, from Heroarts that is no longer on their website. Found this lovely old scrap of PP in my stash that I stitched onto a piece of pink CS then adhered the doily from MFT  (no longer available) on top and added some green lace. Cut the image out with a spellbinders die and then adhered it to another piece of pink CS and mounted it over the doily with dimensionals. Used dimensionals t...

Outlawz Wednesday Sketch Challenge

Image
Christmas  Shopping Done A great sketch this week and like the design team I decided it was time I started making some Christmas cards. I have been really slack this year as by now I would have had most of them done. I think the count this year is 3 so only about 42 to go. Thought I would give the copics a rest and do some water colouring. Distress inks are my favourite to watercolour with and I usually manage to not make to much mess with them. Happy with the finish on this cute image from LOTV   called Jenny-All Shopped but found it is no longer available. That seems to be happening a lot lately but I love using my old favourites. The image was cut out with a Spellbinders circle die then adhered to another circular die from Couture Creations from their Bobtail Set. The holly leaves I drew then coloured and cut out. I couldn't find the stamp I wanted so this was the next best thing. Added some pearls then cut a  Cheery Lynn  Snowflower die for the top righ...

Outlawz Progressive Challenge

Image
Wishful Asha I can't believe it's the end of the month and that means my card for the progressive challenge is due. The image for August is this adorable Asha from Make it Crafty  that Zoe was so generous in donating. She is from the Meadow Girls Digi Stamp Collection and is sold separately as well. This is the first time I have coloured an image with such flowing hair as I didn't think I had the confidence but it's not as scary as I thought. It just takes time and the old saying is plenty of practice makes it perfect. I need lots and lots of practice. Used my copics and added a greeting from an old Hot of the Press set. The circle dies are from Spellbinders and the Stitched Squares from Simon Says Stamps. The image and PP was taped to green card stock then I used dimensionals to add it to a pink card base. The PP is from and old Pink Paislee pad called Spring Jubilee and I added clear Wink of Stella to the butterfly and flowers..    Copics:  Skin: E00...

Outlawz Thursday Challenge.

Image
This week anything goes. Daisies. I love flowers and love copics and they always seem to go together. The Image is from MiC  and love the way it turned out. I have kept it fairly plain as I wanted the flowers to really stand out. Zoe from Make it Crafty has some beautful flower images and I love their life-like quality. The cut behind the image is a spellinders die that I cut out twice and then cut to fit. The butterfly is from Cheery Lyn Designs  but I only used the butterfly top and the paper is from my scrap pile.           Copics:  Flowers: B06,C0,1,Y19,38. Leaves/stems: YG07,G43,46,85. Background: BG0000,000,57,72, and colourless blender.

Poppies

Image
Doodle Pantry Digital Challenge 32 Have had this image for a while and thought the challenge over on Doodle Pantry was the perfect time to colour it up. The poppy has a special meaning for us in Australia on Remembrance Day. It is when on the eleventh hour on the eleven day of the eleven month, the nation stops for a minute's silence, to remember those who sacrificed their lives in war. On this day we wear a red poppy in remembrance. The red poppy has become a familar emblem of Remebrance Day due to the poem "In Flanders Fields". These poppies bloomed across some of the worst battlefields of Flanders in WW 1, their brilliant red colour an appropiate symbol for the blood spilled in war. In Flanders Field In Flanders fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scare heard amid the guns below. We are the Dead. Short days ago  we lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, ...

Annabelle Stamps Sketch Challenge

Image
Nearly forgot this challenge as things got rather hectic this afternoon and we are going away for a few days. My youngest DD is a mad Cliff Richards fan so we are of to Sydney to catch his show. He is not coming to Canberra, and as Tammy is in Orange we have a few hours driving, so making it a nice long weekend. Some shopping, sightseeing and the show. The challenge  was a sketch and this is my take on it.   I stamped the image from the new Standing Tall stamp set and added a touch of colour with a watercolour pencil and blending pen. Stamped the sentiment from All things grow three times in brown ink. Mounted the image on spellbinders floral and nesting small oval. The pp was an old cutoff and can't remember the name. Buttons, small bling and ribbon to finish.

Easy as 1-2-3 Challenge

This was then mounted on a Nellie Snellen patterned circle die. PP is from Prima Botanicals 6 X 6 pad, CS from DCWV, Kaiser bling and lace from stash.   Copics: R81, R85, R89  G82, G85.
