Gerda Steiner Monthly Challenge

Image
Sending Warm Fuzzies Running slow late so short post today. This is my entry to this months challenge at Gerda Steiner's. Have a Friends birthday this month and she love critters so this months cutie was perfect. As usual I used copics to colour the image and made a clean and simple card. To give it a bit of dimension I cut a circle panel and mounted it over the image. The sentiment is from an old Hero Arts set called Everyday Sayings and I stamped it twice around the circle. The happy birthday and heart is one I have had forever I don't know what company it came from. Copics:  Raccoon: W00,3,5,7,9,N3,5,7. Stump: E11,13,15,18. Birthday Sign: E41,42,43. Grass: YG23,67,G29. Sky: BG000,0000,Co & colourless blender.

Di's Digi Designs Challenge

Image
You Are Very Special The latest challenge this fortnight on Di's Digi Designs blog is to use die cuts and/or punches and I must say I don't use mine often enough. There was a time where I used them on nearly every card so it was fun to revisit some old favourites. Have used four on my card all from Spellbinders. Two from the curved borders two set, one from the small circle set and matched it with one from their petite scalloped circle set. I cut the curved borders, adhered them to a piece of Picadilly PP from Basic Grey that was then adhered to a blue card base. After colouring my image with copics I cut it out and matted it with the scalloped blue circle. White embossed the sentiment in my misti so I could curve it to match. It is from an old heroarts set called Live and Laugh that I use often. Copics:   Rabbit: C0,1,3,N9,R12. Colorless blender 0. Flowers: Y04,13,17,38. Leraves: G12,14,28. Paper and Bow: V01,05,06. Ground: E40,70. Background: BG0000....

On Line Class Heat Wave Day 3

Image
Resist Day 3 Today there were some interesting embossing videos and I decided to case a technique and card by Kristina. I remember doing this years ago but this time I had a lot of trouble ironing of the embossing so I could stamp on top of it. Finally was happy enough with it to make a card but I think I will try another embossing powder next time to see if it makes it a bit easier. The background stamp is from Hero Arts called Dots Background and the sentiment from the Stampin Up set  Really Good Greetings. I used my Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolours to paint the background and the hearts were embossed with a coarse embossing enamel to give it a thick glossy finish. Added a few sequins to finish it of.

ACTSA Claytons Camp ATC Swap

Image
Christmas in July Snowman ATC My local stamping group held their stamp camp this month and we always have an ATC swap. Since it's winter down here in Australia the theme was Christmas in July. Didn't have snow here in Canberra but central New South Wales was a winter wonderland for a couple of days. Most unusual as it mainly falls on the alps. I choose to do a snowman and used a stamp from the Stampin up Best of snow set.The trees are an old Hero arts stamp. I had to make 30 so I used my copics to colour them thinking it would be fairly easy. All was going well until one of my copics needed refilling and of course I didn't have that colour and my local shop didn't have it either. Thank goodness for on-line shopping. Added clear Wink of Stella to the snowbanks and glossy accents to the snowman's hat and nose. Copics: Snowman: N1,3,YR07. Scarf: G14,BV04. Hat: YR12,14,R27. Trees: E27,29. Snowbanks: B000,C0,1. Sky: B0000,000,01.

Chookscraps Card Challenge

Image
One of my favourite sites, Chookscrap s has a monthly card challenge as well as other challenges and I have been abit slack lately with them. Well I have managed two so far and hope to do the others tomorrow. Card one was to use five PP's from stash and this is the left overs from a card I did for the Inspirational Challenge on ADAC. The details of the papers used are listed on that post. The cat stamp is an inche from Inkadinkado and as is the sentiment from their Cattitude set. Doily  by Cheery Lyn and hearts Creative Memories. The second card was to use only white and one other colour. Love the way this turned out. The border die is Tessatina from Memory  Box and it is so versitile and large butterfly die from Cheery Lyn. Added a sentiment from HeroArts, solid butterflies from Darkroom Door  stamp set Wildflower that I cut out.
