Crazy 4 Challenges - C4C514

Image
Poinsettias I am addicted to colouring flowers and at this time of year poinsettias always bring such a lovely splash of colour to my Christmas display. So for me this is my favourite stamp this year. I have lots but this years this is the one from Ellen Hutson that has been getting a lot of use. It is no longer available which is a shame. I coloured them both with copics and made a traditional card and a more modern version. Both are layered, the red one fussy cut and the other I used the matching dies. The dies are still available but the stamp is not. Had fun making these and hope you enjoyed your visit.

The Outlawz Festive Friday Challenge

Image
Christmas Wishes I think I must have a thing for cats lately. Cleaning up after finishing a card yesterday and found this image from a digi freebie I had printed off for a Christmas card I had not got around to colouring. Well thought it would be great for the Outlawz Friday challenge and the start of next years Christmas  cards. Kept it really simple with some copic colouring, a sentiment from a new Darkroom Door set  ( love the large greetings) then adhered it to a ready made card base.  Copics:  Cat: N1,3,5,7,G21. Box: R24,29,89. Holly YG63,67. Bow R19,38,YR15,16,98. Shadow: G0000. Ground: W000.1.3.

Day 5 Re-think Re-inkers Dye Ink Block Stamping Card 1

Image
Another Christmas Card. Second last lesson and I have made four backgrounds and this is the first card finished. Used the same colour combination as I wanted to make a couple of Christmas cards but one will probably end up a space one. The background die is the one I used on an earlier card called flower garden from Die-Versions and the snowflakes are the cutout flower centres from the die. They are to nice to waste. The deer is from Birch Trees and Deer from Cottage cuts and the pine trees from Couture Creations. Added a pearl to the snowflake centres and stamped Merry Christmas from an old Hero Arts kit. Came together pretty muck like the idea in my head so another added to the Christmas list for this year.

Altenew Class Rethink Re-inkers Day 4 Embossing Re-inker

Image
Seasons Greetings Had to put the class on hold for a few days but I did managed to get a card done with the embossing re-inker technique. I had fun making the background and this is the result. The card was easy to make and I love the result. The trees are from Gina K and the sentiment from Penny Black. The background was made with Zing pewter and silver embossing powers and I used Zing gold for the trees. The sentiment was done with an old super fine gold I have had for ages and I have forgotten the brand and the label is missing. Shame about that as it is the best I have used.

Altenew Class Rethink Re-inkers Day 2 Christmas Card

Image
Using my re-inkers I have a card today from Day 2 technique and love the way it turned out. Used a background from lesson 2 and I made it into a Christmas card. Not my normal Christmas style but had fun with the red and purple colours and stamped an image from an old set that I was given when I first started card making and I have no idea who made it. The poinsettia is a favourite and I coloured it with my copics then fussy cut it out.The background die is from Die-Versions called flower garden and the sentiment from Ultimate crafts. Originally it was going to be white but it wasn't right so cut another one from black and layered it over the white one. Copics: R17,46,59,G82,85,99.

Gerda Steiner Designs Monthly Challenge

Image
Love at Christmas Decided to make a Christmas card with this adorable image and love the way it turned out. I nearly didn't make it as I decided to have a break and spend time with friends and family this month. Time just seemed to fly and then Christmas and now nearly New Year. Also had to fit in my 70th birthday on the 16th Dec and our 49th wedding anniversary on the 27th Dec. It's been hectic.  The card is cas as the image and sentiment says it all. The hat is one of Gerda's and is perfect for this cute bunny. The sentiment is mine and says what Christmas is all about for me. I used copics to colour and printed the sentiment on the computer. Nice and easy. Copics:  Bunny: E01,31,35,37. Hat: R27,37,89,N1,GB000. Heart: R05,08,12. Ground: N1,3.

The Outlawz Progressive Monthly Challenge

Image
Merry Christmas Decided to have a break from my blog and concentrate on family & friends leading up to Christmas. Had most of my cards done and pressie organised so had plenty of time to catch up for lunches and dinners with people I don't see very often. Spent time going to the movies with my hubby and returned daughter and loved getting together with old work mates and just having fun. I was so busy I nearly forgot to make my card this month but here it is. One Christmas card done for 2018. I kept it clean and simple by printing two baubles onto a card base and another onto a scrap piece of card. I coloured them all with copics and fussy cut the extra one out. I adhered it with mounting tape to the base then onto green card, then a grey card base. Added silver strips to baubles, Wink of Stella and some distress Evergreen Bough ink around edge and all done. Copics: Baubles: N1,3,5. Blue ribbon: B000,02,12,16. Teal ribbon: BG11,13,15. Green ribbon: G000,...

Your Next Stamp Challenge #56

Image
Sending Joy Having just discovered your stamps I only have two so far and they are both Christmas ones so I have another card to add to the pile for next Christmas. I stamped the image twice, coloured one and just the mice on the other so I could fizzy cut them and mount them for dimension. Added some glossy accents and clear wink of stella for some pop. Used some spellbinders ovals to cut the image and layer it onto the card. The large piece of PP is from Kaiser Bluebelle 61/2 x61/2 pad and the small strip is a scrap piece from my stash. Added some twine and the sentiment is from the same stamp set. I used copics to colour the image. Copics:  Mice: W0,1,3,R12. Hat: R24,27. Bow: E50,51,53,55. Leaves & Berries: YG11,13,17,67,G17,R35. Flowers: RV000,02,14,R24,E13. Background: BG0000.

Have you been good. This is such a cute image this month, well every month they are cute but this one is sooo cute. I kept it simple with a round window showing a snowy scene and with the temp here in the 30'sc I wish I could have really had snow outside. Cut a frame for the window and coloured the sky with faded jeans and chipped sapphire distress inks and added two snowbanks. Used a white gel pen for the snowflakes. Santa was coloured with copics and adhered with mounting tape for dimension. Copics Skin: E000,01,53,R12,20. Suit & Hat: R08,37,89,B0000,000,00. Gloves: E70,71. Boots: N1,5,7,9. Beard: C0,3. List: E000,Y000,00.

Outlawz Freebie Monthly Challenge

Image
Micemas Post This month the freebie is this adorable image from Di's Digis . I have a few of these cute critters and they are a joy to colour. I used copics and then went around the edges with broken china and pumice stone distress inks. The sentiment is from Penny Blacks The Wonder set. The panel was then adhered to black cardstock and onto blue PP from the Echo Park 6 x 6 Season's Greetings pack that I added some white organza ribbon and silver cord to before adhering it to a black card base. Added some Wink of Stella for some shine and another Christmas card done. Copics:  Mice: E40,51,53,55,R20,W1. Santa Hat: R37,59,B000,01,C0. Post Box: R14,27,29,46,N1,3,5,7,E41,44,47,49. Last Christmas card I promise

Image
For my Hubby This is definitely the last Christmas card I post. I know it is January 2016 but I thought I had added this to the last post before Christmas but somehow it didn't make it. I was so happy with how it turned out and hubby loved it. The image is from Make it Crafty  and is a steam punk santa. Great for male cards, fun to colour and there are a few in the set. I kept the card clean and simple and computer generated the sentiment. Copics: Skin: E51,53,R02,05. Beard: C1.3. Glasses: N1,3,5,100,BG000. Hat & Jacket: R24, 37,89,B000,00. Gloves: W3,5. Outlawz Freebie Progressive Challenge

Image
Happy Christmas Little Star The freebie this month is from All Dressed Up and she is adorable. I wasn't going to post my card as everything that can go wrong did for this one. I was planning on using water colouring but printed in out on the ink jet printer on the water colour paper. They really don't mix and even heat setting didn't help. I hate to waste so I decided to use Prisma pencils but have never done it on the watercolour paper. The bumpy paper is really not the best surface, in fact it was hard work getting the pencils to blend but I persevered and I think I finally managed to achieve a reasonable card front. I am definitely going to give it another shot but later. The sentiment is a die from Impression Obsession  and the border snowflakes from Couture Creations but it is no longer available. They release so many and it is hard to get older ones. I adhered then to the image and then onto a blue card base. Still not all that happy with it but with Christmas just...

An Other Christmas Card

Image
Kitten In a Gift Bag Another gorgeous kitten image from Gerda Steiner  and as my youngest is such a cat lover I think this might be her Christmas card this year. Have been trying to get them all finished so have not been posting them as I do them . Copics was my choice to colour the image and I then cut it out and framed it with a pierced square die from MFT . The sentiment die is from Impression Obsession  and the border is a punch from EK Success  though it is an old one that I have had for ages so not sure if it is still available. The ribbon is from SU. I added Diamond Stickles from Ranger to the hat and Clear Wink of Stella to the Stars. The ribbons on the presents have Dimensional Magic added to them to add some gloss but it doesn't show up on the photo. Copics:  Cat: E01.02,11,W10 Hat: R24,29,46,59. Bag: B0000,01,G0000,00,02 Stars: Y17,21 Tree: G24,28,29,E29,39,R59. Presents: R000,20,YR000,B21,23,37,39,C0. Ground: W0,1,3.

Polar bear Christmas.

Image
Merry Christmas Last month I used this lovely image from Deedee's images  and I just had to make another card with it. I used distress inks for the background again and cut the image slightly smaller and used different colour copics for the scarf. Added some snowflakes, the large one from Simon Says Stamps, and the small ones from a border die. I didn't keep a record of the copics and the sentiment. It is a mix of free stamps that I received with a Stamp magazine. Sadly Deedee's Images is closing at the end of the month so if you like her images you will have to get in quick. I will be sorry to see her go.

Merry Christmas Bear

Image
Shopping all Done This is such a cute stamp from LOTV call Jenny - All Shopped but it is no longer available. I use it every Christmas but they are always adding new ones so you can check for their new stamps. Their stamps are hard to resist. I coloured her with copics then cut it out with a oval die from MFT   then mounted it on an old scrap of PP. The sentiment is from Couture Creations merry little Christmas collection called Christmas Banners and the snowflake border is called tinsel and is also from Couture Creations. The snowflakes are Spellbinders and Cheery Lyn dies. I tend to cut an assortment and keep them handy so I can pick and chose the ones that suit my card. Some bling from my stash and some twine finished this panel that I adhered to an aqua card base. Copics:  Bear: E70,71,74. Hat: R24,35,37,N1,Bg10,,C0,1,3. Scarf: R24,35,Y13,15,17, Presents:YG21,23,B01,02,21,23,34,41,R05,41,C0,1,3. Bags: Yg63,G82,BG11,15. Tags: E000,01,42,43. ...

Outlawz Friday Colouring Challenge

Image
Have a Beaut Chrissie The topic for this weeks colour challenge was hats. I choose this Aussie Santa  digi from Make it Crafty as he has a hat on and it means another Christmas card to tick of the list. The digi images that make up the scene are also from and they are so much fun to work with. The gum leaves are an old Stamp-it rubber stamp that I coloured and cut out. The PP is from the Kaiser Base Coat 6 x 6 pad and it is mounted on a black card base also from Kaiser. The scene is coloured with copics and I used some tumbled glass and tea dye distress inks around the edge for a bit more colour. Copics: Skin: E11,13,R02 Beard: W1,5,7. T/Shirt: R46,59. Shorts: C5,9. Hat: E40,47,49,71. Thongs: W5,9. Sunnies: BG0000. Beer can: G09,N1. Tree: BG93,G94,E49,71. Gum leaves: BG93,G94. Fence posts: E71,74,79. Ground: YR21,E31,33,35,E09,18,19. Grass: G94,95. Sky: B0000.

Outlawz Wednesday Sketch Challenge

Image
Christmas  Shopping Done A great sketch this week and like the design team I decided it was time I started making some Christmas cards. I have been really slack this year as by now I would have had most of them done. I think the count this year is 3 so only about 42 to go. Thought I would give the copics a rest and do some water colouring. Distress inks are my favourite to watercolour with and I usually manage to not make to much mess with them. Happy with the finish on this cute image from LOTV   called Jenny-All Shopped but found it is no longer available. That seems to be happening a lot lately but I love using my old favourites. The image was cut out with a Spellbinders circle die then adhered to another circular die from Couture Creations from their Bobtail Set. The holly leaves I drew then coloured and cut out. I couldn't find the stamp I wanted so this was the next best thing. Added some pearls then cut a  Cheery Lynn  Snowflower die for the top righ...

Tis the Season

Image
Tuesday Colour Challenge Tic Tac Toe The Tuesday Outlawz challenge was to pick a line and make a card with the elements on that line.  I choose the left to right diagonal and I really had fun with it. Haven't paper pieced for ages and this stamp from Wplus9 is perfect for it. The stamp is no longer in their on-line store but it is an old favourite one of mine and so easy for this technique. I used watercolour pencils for the figure and scraps to paper piece the shopping bags in the colours I needed for the challenge. The holly is from the same set but I stamped the flowers on scrap PP with SU's Birthday Blossoms and cut them out. Added small red glass beads to the centres and three green pearls to the holly. The border punch is from Fiskars and the ribbon from my stash.

Nearly Done

Image
Have just about finished my Christmas cards for this year. All ready to post or deliver so should beat the rush at the post office. These two I did today for two old friends as I wont be able to catch up before Christmas. Used an image from the Penny Black stamp set  the Wonder . They are just so cute and seem to be getting plenty of use this Christmas. The first one was made using scraps so I have no idea of the name of the PP and coloured with copics. The border punch is Stamping up and sentiment was a present last year from my stamping group (ACTSA).  Copics: Hedgehog E50,53,55,74,77,C7  Scraf & Mittens B12,14,16,18 Presents B45,93,99,Y04,YR16,YG07,09,R46 Sled E35,37,Multi Liner Sepia Robin E25,50,53,R24 Ground W3,5, Blender 0 Shadow B0000 The same image was used for the second card, just used different colours, and stuck fairly close with the same basic sketch. The PP for this was a freebie from Australian Simply Cards a couple of years...
