Monthly ACTSA 1-4-1 Artist Trading Card Swap

The Swinging 60's

This month the theme is all about the 60's and this girl fits perfectly. Love the flower patterned dress and those long white boots. I can relate so well to that time and I had a pair of boots just like these. The image is melody from Make it Crafty and after colouring her with copics, fussy cut her out and  adhered her to the base with mounting tape. Had fun with the base and love the way it turned out. First I used scrunched up cling wrap dipped in Jo Sonja pale gold acrylic paint and daubed over a white card 21/2 x 31/2 leaving lots of white space. Next just picked some bright distress inks and blended them over the card. Hard to see the gold shining through but it looks great. Decided it needed some stencils but used a translucent paste instead of white and love the subtle finish. The title was computer generated and the black makes it pop against the bright colours.
