The Outlawz Progressive Freebie Monthly Challenge

Image
The Conductor I can't believe that it has been a month since my last post. Time just seems to fly past, or maybe I have just been to busy with other things. I have made plenty of cards and I will put some of my favourites up tomorrow. This card is for the last freebie challenge for 2018 and as usual it's a last day scramble to do it. I love the result even if it was rushed. The image is coloured with copics and I used some distress inks to create a vintage grunge look. After printing the image I drew a scroll around it and stamped some music randomly here and there. I distressed the scroll, used mounting tape to adhere it to some music I printed then adhered it to a black card mount and onto my card base. The sentiment  is from a  Darkroom door set called Melody and I attached it with some twine. The distress inks used, old paper and vintage photo, were added to the edge of the scroll and patterned paper to add some dimension. Copics: The conductor: Skin: E0000,

Snowbuddy loves you like I do  Running late as usual so this will be a quick post so I can add my card to the challenge.. Will get back and edit it later. Back again. Love the way this turned out and have a dear friend that will love this. I printed the snowman and sentiment out together and snow-woman on a separate piece of xpress it paper and coloured them with copics. Fussy cut the snow-woman and used mounting tape to add her to the snowman panel. The sentiment I have no idea where it's from but it is perfect for this. Sorry the pic is a bit bright but it was not the best time to take the photo this morning and I had to be out early.. Copics: Snowman/Woman: N0,1,5,7.E25,YR07,16. Snowman Scarf: Y02,06,YG05,09,G28,46. Snow-woman Scarf: B00,02,V01,06,YG11,13. Hat Blue: B01,34,37,39. Flower: R27,89,YR18. Hat Red: R27,89,B26,34. Flower: Y11,18,N7. Background: B0000,000. Snow: B24,26.

Foxy Love I can't believe it's the end of October and less than two months til Christmas. The time is just flying by and and as usual I'm late with this months challenge. Had the idea in my head for ages but other things got in the way. I loved playing with this fox image from MMedel Illustration and pleased with the way it turned out. I printed it twice, rotated one of them, so they look like they are kissing and used my copics to colour them. Was going to stamp them on the card front but decided to fussy cut them out as I thought I might like to have them raised up. I Masked the moon off and coloured the background in Distress oxides. The sentiment is from an Altenew set called To the Moon  which went perfect with the kissing foxes. Added stars with a white gel pen and a few hearts and all done. In the end the foxes where just glued flat to the card. Copics: Foxes: YR000,15,18,21,R20,E20,40,42,49, Black 100

Day 5 Rethink Re-inkers Card 4

Image
It's your Birthday Last card today for lesson 5. Was not really happy with this one but thought I would put it up anyway. The large snowflake was cut out with a piece of the background I had left from another card and placed over the nice piece I liked but it hides to much of it. Added the flowers and changed it to a birthday card and it's not singing to me. I guess that what happens when you just don't stop when you should and then it's to late. We live and learn.

Day 5 Rethink Re-inkers Card 3

Image
Out of this World I think this might be my favourite so far. When I saw the background my first thought was outer space and I have a couple to stamps that would work and this set won out. I loved the sentiment on this set  and this is the result. Stamped the spaceman from Uniquely Creative set Out of this World ,  coloured it with copics and fussy cut it out. Die cut a circle and used lesson 5 technique to colour it and mount it with dimensional tape to the background after adding the string and spaceman. The sentiment was embossed with clear embossing powder and adhered with dimensional tape. Added some white enamel dots for stars and I am happy it came out as I planned. They don't always (LOL). Copics: Spaceman: Skin: E000,01. Hair: E25,29. Suit: W1,3,5,N0,3,5,E33,35,R35,B18.

Day 5 Rethink Re-inkers

Image
Happy Birthday Card 2 Still using the backgrounds I made with the lesson 5 techniques. Same colour scheme and used dies again to decorate the card. It's been great to go through my stash and use up lots of cut offs and scraps. Knew they would come in handy one day. Layered the flower die cuts, added a couple of leaves and then stamped a birthday sentiment. Thought it needed a little something extra so found these enamel dots that match perfectly. Only a couple more to finish then onto lesson 6. Have enjoyed this so much.

Day 5 Re-think Re-inkers Dye Ink Block Stamping Card 1

Image
Another Christmas Card. Second last lesson and I have made four backgrounds and this is the first card finished. Used the same colour combination as I wanted to make a couple of Christmas cards but one will probably end up a space one. The background die is the one I used on an earlier card called flower garden from Die-Versions and the snowflakes are the cutout flower centres from the die. They are to nice to waste. The deer is from Birch Trees and Deer from Cottage cuts and the pine trees from Couture Creations. Added a pearl to the snowflake centres and stamped Merry Christmas from an old Hero Arts kit. Came together pretty muck like the idea in my head so another added to the Christmas list for this year.

Day 4 Rethink Re-inkers Card 2

Image
For You Friend I had a small piece of background left from my first card and I hate to waste so made this second card. The leaves and friend die are from a kit by Gina k and I embossed the leaves in three colours of Zing embossing powder, rouge, mustard and leaf. Die cut them out with the two friends die. The small friend die was then gold heat embossed and adhered to the large one. Wrapped gold thread around the green card mat, adhered the leaves with mounting tape, and the friend die and background after stamping and embossing the for you sentiment. A button, some sequins and gold bow added and all finished. Don't know which is my favourite. Like them both.

Outlawz Progressive Monthly Challenge

Hello Friend Late as usual with my entry but I have been busy and had a lovely break with friends just relaxing  with no computers. I even had my phone off most of the time and I didn't miss it at all. Just sent a message once a day to the our daughters and told them only to ring if desperate. So peaceful and we all managed fine and the world did not end. The image this month is gorgeous and I tried something different. Have had this old set of cheap watercolour pencils that I have been going to throw away but  had a play and here is the result. Not the best but was fun trying to just stick with the few colours in the set.

Altenew Class Rethink Re-inkers Day 4 Embossing Re-inker

Image
Seasons Greetings Had to put the class on hold for a few days but I did managed to get a card done with the embossing re-inker technique. I had fun making the background and this is the result. The card was easy to make and I love the result. The trees are from Gina K and the sentiment from Penny Black. The background was made with Zing pewter and silver embossing powers and I used Zing gold for the trees. The sentiment was done with an old super fine gold I have had for ages and I have forgotten the brand and the label is missing. Shame about that as it is the best I have used.

Altenew Class Rethink Re-inkers Day 3 Die Cutting

Image
Don't Ruffle Your Feathers  Thi s  card is Day 3 lesson where we used dies to cut an image from the background we made and then used it as a focal point on a card. Used my copic re-inkers for the first time and will definitley use them again. This was a quick and easy card and I have plenty of leftover cut leaves etc to use later. This set of feathers was a freebie by Hot Of The Press that came with a magazine from Practical Publishing that had matching dies and stencil. Cut three feathers and used one of the sentiments from the set. Added some sequins and twine, and inked around panel with faded jeans distress ink then added some splatters with the same ink.

Altenew Class Rethink Re-inkers Day 2 Christmas Card

Image
Using my re-inkers I have a card today from Day 2 technique and love the way it turned out. Used a background from lesson 2 and I made it into a Christmas card. Not my normal Christmas style but had fun with the red and purple colours and stamped an image from an old set that I was given when I first started card making and I have no idea who made it. The poinsettia is a favourite and I coloured it with my copics then fussy cut it out.The background die is from Die-Versions called flower garden and the sentiment from Ultimate crafts. Originally it was going to be white but it wasn't right so cut another one from black and layered it over the white one. Copics: R17,46,59,G82,85,99.

Altenew Class Rethink Re-inkers Day 2

Image
Get Whale Soon Day 2 and another card done. Made a couple of backgrounds but only had time to make one card and I like this one so will try to use the other  piece soon. I used a free digi from a craft magazine with lots of sea images and sentiments and a stamp from the SU set called By the Tide. Coloured the Whale with copics in matching inks and it came together nice and quick.

Altenew Class Rethink Re-inkers Day 1

Image
Enjoy Life's Moments Saw this class on the Altenew website and decided I needed to catch up on the latest ways to use your re-inkers and alcohol inks. They are the hot topic at the moment and as I use my copics most days to colour I have lots of re-inkers but I haven't used my alcohol ink for ages.  This is the card I did for lesson one and I have a background ready to make a card for lesson two. The bird die is from Kaiser and the flower from Eastarts and was coloured with copic marker Y06. The leaf is one from my stash and can't remember the company. The large red circle reminded me of the setting sun so the bird was perfect for this card. The sentiment was computer generated.

Crazy 4 Challenges

Image
Tom & Tilly When I read the subject for this weeks challenge I knew just the stamp I wanted to use. Don't use it enough but it says it all about Grandparents and I didn't add a sentiment as the image just conveys the love shared by these two. I used copics to colour them and then adhered it to a pale red card mat then onto a grey card base. Love the simplicity of this card.  Copics: Tilly: Top & Skirt: R30,32,43,46,/C0,3,7.   Shoes: N3,5,7,W7. Hair: W000,0,1,5. Skin: E000,01,11. Tom:  Jacket & Pants: B95,97,99,/E50,53,55. Donuts Never seem to have time to post to the blog but at least I did the monthly challenge over at Outlawz a bit earlier than normal for me so here it is. I love this image by Sandra Caldwell and had fun trying to find a quirky sentiment  for it and then remembered this digi site here in Australia and she has so many funny ones and lots of freebies. As usual I coloured with copics and layered the image, added some sequins and a ribbon & bow.  Copics:  Donut: RV63,66.E35,YR24. Hippo: No,1,3,5,7. Shirt: BG10,23,27,RV69 & white gel pen. Bow: V93,95,99. Ground: E000,01,02. Shadow: BG0000.

Birthday Tulips Thought it was time to get back into the monthly challenge over on the Outlawz blog and just noticed my last post was about tulips as well. The are such pretty flowers and great to colour. I used copics and kept the card fairly uncluttered to show the tulips off. The PP mat is an old piece from Graphic 45 I found in my to tidy box and I layered four of the tulips but hard to see in the photo. The sentiment is from a set called You Matter  by Simon Says Stamps.  Copics: Tulips: R01,02,05,12,14,17,21,22,24,29,35,43,46. Leaves & Stems: YG00,11,13,17. Sky: BG0000,10,11. Ground: N1,3,5,7,9, and Black Copic Multi Liner 0.3

Tulips in Pitcher

Image
Tulips from Amsterdam Last months card challenge at my monthly craft group (ACTSA) was the Netherlands and what could be more appropriate than tulips. I saw a card done with this stamp from Power Poppy  where they made to cards from one image and decided to try it. Love the way it turned out. I coloured the image with different coloured zig watercolour brush markers and then cut it down the middle. The last card uses the complete image as I was having fun and didn't know when to stop colouring. Sentiments from SSS set Handlettered Encouragement for first two cards and computer generated the sentiment for the last card.   Card 1 Tulips: 050 Yellow, 70 Orange, 020 Red, 022 Carmine Red. Leaves: 042 Turquoise Green, 048 Emerald Green. Pitcher: 031 Cobalt Blue, 036 Light Blue. Shadow: 094 Gray. Ground: 066 Dark Oatmeal. Card 2 Tulips: 070 Orange, 020 Red, 024 Wine red. Beary Wishes I am going to miss the challenge each month at Gerda Steiner Designs but it has been a fun and rewarding experience. Through no fault of theirs they will not be continuing with the free digi challenge but the Share your  Design one is still going ahead. It has been such a joy to work with the adorable images that Gerda designs and was so generous with. Thanks so very much. Since I had made my card for this month I will be entering it in Share the Design challenge. I used the freebie but added two other images, coloured them with copics and then added a hand cut banner. A nice Clean and Simple card.   Copics: Large Bear: E40,70,71,74,77,79,R20,30. Sign: E0000,00,01. Balloon Bear: E11,12,13,17,19,R01. Balloons: G09,12,Y13,18,R12,14,17,24. Hat: BG11,15,57,BG09. Crazy 4 Challenges - C4C433

Image
Have a Magical day I haven't done this challenge for a while and when I read the topic "Super Hero's" Harry Potter was the first thing that flashed into my mind so I had to try it. The image is a digi from Pixie Dust Studio and as I love Harry and to me he is a super hero it would make a great card for my daughters birthday. The background is a picture I collected somewhere and I taped it to coloured card matte then to a black card base. I coloured the image with copics and then fussy cut it out. Used dimensional tape to adhered it and the computer generated sentiment to the card.  Copics:  Skin: E00,11,13. Glasses: B0000. Hair: E49,74,77,79,W9. Shirt: C1,3. Jumper: N0,3,5. Gnome is where the heart is. I cant believe it is just about the end of the month and I haven't posted a thing. So much to do and so little time. Don't know how I managed when I was working as retirement never has enough hours in a day. The image this month is this adorable couple and I coloured them with copics. Added some dots to her apron and decided he needed some stripes for a bit of colour on his hat. Printed some roses from Beary Wishes, computer generated the sentiment and added some bakers twine. The PP is from an Echo Park pack called Dots & Stripes. Copics:  Gnomes:  Skin: E0000,01,02,11,R20. Hair: E00,23,27,29,49. Dress: G0000,00,02,16. Hat/Girl & Apron: V000,01,04,05. Jacket: E31,23,25. Nap Time My card for this months challenge was a rushed one as I left it to the last minute as usual. It's the National Folk Festival here in Australia and I have my four day pass so I just about ran out of time. I haven't missed one since they moved it permanently to Canberra 20 odd years ago. The image was coloured with copics and then fussy cut and adhered to the background. Used distress oxide and a Darkroom Door stamp called gum tree to make the background then this was framed with patterned paper from a Kaiser 6 x 6 pad called base coat. Copics: Cat: R000,E11,47,49. Mouse: W1,3,5,R20. Cactus & Pot: G20,21,24,YR00,R01,05,08,B21,24,41. Books Flat: B95,97,BV25,E000,11,25,27,YG97. Books Upright: RV69,91,93,99,N5,7,9,R59,89,BG53,57,75,78. Tree: E71,74.

Fishing you a great Day My blog has been neglected lately but life seems to just get in the way and something has to give. I still managed to make a few cards but haven't really got back into the getting them on the blog. This card is for the monthly challenge at Outlawz and I am early with it for a change. I love this lovely image by Anne Fenton and it was a joy to colour with my copics. Cut it out with a large stitched die from My Favourite things, adhered it to a piece of blue card then onto a white card base. The sentiment is computer generated.  Copics: Skin: E00,01,11,13,R20. T/Shirt: N1,3,B12, Colourless Blender. Shorts: B34,37. Hat: B39,95,99. Shoes: C1,3,N3,5,7,R22,24,29, Black Multi Liner Socks: B0000,000,C1,3. Fish: G43,BG05,75,78,YR00,12. Worms/Can: R05,07,E95,W3,5. Colour Challenge Stamp Nation

Image
You Make Everyday Awesome Received the new Split Chevron stencil the other day and decided to have a play so I used it on the card with the colours from the challenge. Had been playing with some old flower dies and this is the result. First I white embossed the stencil on white card then sponged on my old Versacolor small cubes in Orchid, Canary, Orange and Camellia and love the way they blended. Mixed the flowers from three old sets and then cut the leaves from one of the sets. Used a Spellbinders border die to cut the embossed panel then cut another strip in dark blue to match my card base. The sentiment is from a Simon Says Stamp set called Hand Lettered Encouragement.  Loved the way I used a lot of old things I had not used for ages so maybe I need to drag more out to play with.

Sketch Challenge on Stamp Nation

Image
Sending Hugs Saw the sketch challenge on Stamp nation so thought  I would have a go.  I stuck to the sketch closely and it came together quickly. Cut a white circle from spellbinders dies,  hugs from a layered Avery Elle die and computer generated the sentiment. Stamped the flower and leaves from a set called beautiful day by Altenew  then adhered them all to green card then unto a dark grey card base. The sentiment , flower and leaves were attached with mounting tape for some dimension. Nice and simple card that would be great to send to a friend that just needs a hug.

Love U I'm always running late with the monthly challenge at Gerda Steiner Designs so I am going to try this year to do it a bit earlier. It's not a New Years resolutions as I never seem to sick to them but at least I have managed February's as I started badly in January. These are such cute bunnies but I wanted to add more flowers so printed three images so I could fussy cut some extras to make it like a bouquet. They were coloured with copics, cut out with a Mama Elephant stitched die, the added to some orange card. I adhered a strip of grey gingham, Rosie's studio paper pad, to the black card base then attached the image and the simple sentiment. They are from an old Hot of the Press set of words that has to be 15 years old but they are great for creating your own sentiments.     Copics:  Grey Bunny: C0,1,3,5. Brown Bunny: E01,02,11,15. Flowers: YR15,R27,G05. Ground: E31,35. Shadow: BG0000,G0000,C000.

For Your Special Day This must be a record for me, the first week of the monthly challenge and I  have finished my card. I had never seen a wild rose so I googled it and this was the most common colours I found. The image from Beccy's was a joy to colour and I layered the three of the flowers for dimension, scored around the card then attached it to a pink card base. Thought that was it but something seemed to be missing so I added a couple of strips of black glitter paper and they really made it pop. The sentiment is from a set from Create a Smile called Just Because that was embossed with white on black card. Close-up of flowers Copics: Flowers: RV000,11,14. Leaves: YG1,17,25,67,G43. Stems: E25,YG95.

Outlawz Weekly Colour Challenge

If Friends were Flowers This week it's a tic tac toe with a twist and I found this old paper pad from Rosie's Studio with the perfect paper. The flowers are an old image from Fred She Said and it was coloured with copics. Kept it fairly clean as I wanted the tulips to stand out. The sentiment was computer generated and adhered with dimensional tape as was the tulips. Copics: T ulips: RV14,23,29,69,YG06,09,G28,46. Shadow: C0,1,5.

Sending Hugs It's taking me a while to get back into my craft room after Christmas and I am late as usual with this months challenges. Today I decided to do a distress ink background and surprise I actually like it so it spurned me on to colour up the lovely image for the Outlawz monthly challenge. The image is from Di's Digis and it was fun to colour. I stamped a tree from the  Darkroom door   set Gum trees using a dauber to ponce the ink onto the stamp then a fine brush to paint the trunk to finish the background. Fussy cut the image and adhered it to the card after stamping the sentiment from a Create a Smile set - Just Because then added some glossy accents to the cupcake and ribbon. I did use my prisma pencils for some shading as the bunny looked like it was floating. Copics:  Bunny: W00,1,3,5,7,R01. Clothes: G12,14,16,BG000,B14. Ribbon: R43,59. Cupcake: E23,25,27,R000,21,22. Trolley: B93,97,99,E23,27.

Love I am soo in love with this adorable panda so the title  just had to be called love. I have lots of love dies but for some reason I rarely use them but this one with the heart just seemed to fit and was the perfect sentiment for this image. I printed two panda images, coloured one with copics and just a few hearts from the second so I could fussy cut some for layering. I wanted the image to stand out so just backed it onto a red spotted PP from Rosie's Studio Basics 6 x 6 in paper pack and then onto a black card base. I added some glossy accents to the layered hearts, die cut the love three times in black then red for contrast and dimension and then glued them together, this was adhered to the card and I love the way it all came together. Copics: Panda:  C0, 3, 5, 9. Hearts: R08, 12, 14, 17, 24, 27, 37. Shadow: B0000, 000. Ground: E41, 42, N1.
